King University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctoral degrees. The School of Nursing programs are fully approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing, and are a member of the American Association of Colleges of NursingThe baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program at King University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

The Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).1

The Bachelor of Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education's Commission on Accrediation (CSWE). 

The athletic program is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and Conference Carolinas.

King University School of Business is a member of Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs.

King University is certified to operate in Virginia by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).

Complaint Procedure for Students Enrolled at Virginia Sites:

Students enrolled in academic programs in Virginia should follow the student complaint procedures outlined in the King University Student Handbook. Students who follow King University grievance policies without resolution of their concern may, as a last resort, contact a staff member of the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) to file a complaint about the school.

Each course or degree, diploma, or certificate program offered in Virginia is approved by the governing body of the school, the Board of Trustees.  


1King University is currently on probation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101. The program has chosen to Voluntarily Withdraw its Accreditation effective May 2020. The program will remain on probation until the Withdraw is effective and the program is closed.
