Internships add work experience and transferable skills to your knowledge base. Employers
rate internship experience as one of the top reasons for hiring.
Internships, externships and job shadowing are always a good choice. The Career Success
Center recommends you begin planning in your first year at the university to have
as many real work experiences as possible.
Registered internships may be used for university credit. King University allows up
to 6 internship credit hours towards graduation. One internship credit equals 50 hours
on site but may include research, writing or developing a database or other assignments.
Internships may be completed year round for credit or non-credit. A student may register
for an internship up to the “last day to withdraw from a class with a W for that term”
as shown in the Academic Calendar.
The Career Success Center is available for daily walk-ins and encourages appointments.
To apply for an internship, a student must meet with a member of the Career Success
Center staff and complete an internship orientation.
