Missing Student Notification Policy

In compliance with the Missing Student Notification Policy and Procedures (Section 488 of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008) and Tennessee Code Annotated 37-10- 202 Initial missing child report and Suzanne’s Law” Section 3701(a) of the Crime Control Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 5779(a); the policy below has been developed in order to assist in locating missing persons, who, based on the facts and circumstances are known to be missing by the University. This policy sets forth procedures for the reporting, investigating and making emergency notifications regarding any currently-enrolled student who is believed to be missing.

Missing Person Policy

Students of the Age of 21
In accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated 37-10- 202 Initial missing child report a person who is reported missing and is under the age of 21 must be treated in the same manner as a juvenile (person under the age of 18).

Register a Confidential Contact
King University provides students the opportunity to register a confidential contact person with the security office. Under this policy, a student’s confidential contact person will only be notified if the student is determined to be missing.
