An apostille is a form of document authentication issued for use in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. Apostilles are often needed for graduate programs, employment application, adoptions, extraditions, and some business transactions abroad.
Request for an apostille must be made in writing and requires the signature of the requester. Financial obligations to the University must be cleared before the request will be honored. There is a $30 charge for each apostille.
Notarized documents are transmitted to the Secretary of State for Tennessee. Receipt of apostille can take up to six weeks.
