Silent Sky is the story of real-life astronomer, Henrietta Leavitt who worked as a human computer at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s. Henrietta longs to explore her own ideas and use the “Great refractor Telescope” but she is forbidden, and instead becomes part of the so-called “math harem” of a famous astronomer. Henrietta navigates family responsibilities, relationships and vast questions as she strives to find her place in a time when the scientific contributions of women are often credited to men.
