July 22, 2024

King University has welcomed Amanda Pollard as director of Career Services.

Pollard, an experienced professional with deep community ties, joined King in June and is now assisting students with professional development services including career exploration, resume and interview preparation, and internship sourcing. She also serves as a liaison to regional employers seeking to interview and hire King students and alumni.

“Amanda brings a great deal of experience with career services, as well as connections with local employers in our region,” said Rob Littleton, vice president for Student Affairs. “We’re grateful to have her join King, and we look forward to the many advantages that her expertise will provide to our students.”

Pollard has extensive experience in higher education, having served at Radford University in Radford and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Most recently, she served as the senior associate director of Experiential Education at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia, where she worked in career services since 2006.

“I am excited to join the King community and to provide tailored career services to our students,” Pollard said. “I look forward to working with employers and graduate schools to help grow access to amazing experiences and opportunities including internships, employment, and graduate studies.”

Pollard is a graduate of Radford University, having earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees there, and resides in Bristol with her husband, Michael.
