Biography

Dr. Matt Peltier is currently the Dean of Academic Services & University Librarian at King University in Bristol, TN. He has worked at King since 1999, holding a variety of positions – including instructional technologist, Dean of Library & Learning Services, and Dean of Students – prior to his current role. He also holds the rank of associate professor and is the coordinator of King’s minor in leadership.

Dr. Peltier has a heart and a passion for serving students; for an integrated and holistic approach to student learning; for facilitating professional development and lifelong learning for faculty and staff; and for seeking to live out what he feels to be his call, using his skills, talents, and giftings in a variety of roles and responsibilities.

Dr. Peltier completed his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from King College, his master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Kentucky, and his doctoral degree in educational studies and leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an active member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as a ruling elder.
